A/B Testing: What it is and how to do it correctly

Post by ayeshshiddika11 »

Maximizing marketing campaigns 100% from the start is difficult, as there is always room for improvement as data is collected and analyzed.

This is why A/B testing is so important in marketing , because it is a good way to test different versions of specific parts of a marketing campaign.

A/B tests can clarify what makes the difference between a campaign being more or less profitable, by changing specific parts of your website, landing pages, CTAs, emails, etc.

What is an A/B test and how does it work?
An A/B test compares two how to get philippines number for whatsapp versions of the same element of a marketing campaign, with the intention of knowing which of the two provides the best result.

To do this, two versions of the element we want to compare are created and shown randomly to users. Once we have enough data on user interaction, we can analyze whether one or the other works better.

For example, you might test 2 different locations for your blog newsletter subscription CTA. With enough time and data, you can see which location delivers the most signups.

Furthermore, once we know the ideal location for this CTA, we can change visual elements to see if we can get better performance from it.

For an A/B test to work, very specific elements must be changed. Following the example mentioned above, if we want to do an A/B test on the newsletter CTA, we can change only the text and test with several different ones, or change the design and test with several options.

But, if we do an A/B test changing several things at the same time, we won't know which element gave us that extra performance... was it the change in text, or the change in design?

A/B testing can be done with any element of a marketing campaign, with a CTA like the example above, but also by testing different types of landing pages, changing elements of a website, testing different emails, etc.
