This is an OSINT tool available

Privacy-Centric Telegram API: The core Telegram Bot API does not provide a mechanism for bots to access your phone's call logs or to directly query global phone number registries for caller ID purposes. Telegram's API is built with user privacy as a cornerstone.
OSINT Tools (Not Direct Bots): Many GitHub projects related to "phone number lookup" or "OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence)" are not designed as simple Telegram bots for end-users. Instead, they are often scripts or frameworks for researchers to gather publicly available information.

Bellingcat's Telegram Phone Number Checker: on GitHub. It can check if a phone number is linked to a Telegram account and retrieve publicly available information, but it's a command-line tool, not a simple bot you interact with in Telegram for general unknown number identification.
Scams and Malicious Repositories: Be extremely cautious of any GitHub repositories or Telegram bots that claim to offer "free" or easy access to private phone number details without user consent. These can be:

Malware: Designed to infect your device or steal israel whatsapp number data your Telegram account credentials. Recent news highlights "rogue npm packages" mimicking Telegram Bot APIs to plant SSH backdoors, emphasizing the risk of untrusted code.

Phishing Scams: Aiming to trick you into providing your own personal information.
Non-functional: Simply don't work as advertised.
News and General Trends:

Truecaller's Official Integration: Truecaller has been focusing on integrating its identification features directly into messaging apps like Telegram and WhatsApp through its official mobile app. This is a more legitimate and secure way to identify message senders, but it still relies on the user having Truecaller installed and granting permissions.

Emphasis on Privacy: Recent news and discussions around Telegram continue to highlight the platform's commitment to user privacy, which inherently restricts what bots can access without explicit user consent.

OSINT Community: Within the OSINT community, there's ongoing development of tools (many open-source on GitHub) that can aid in gathering information from various online sources, including some Telegram-related data (like publicly available usernames or group information). However, these are specialized tools, not general "unknown number finders."
