Moroccan group OCP has committed to training and building the capacities of young Ivorians in agriculture, particularly in the digital sector, as part of an agreement signed with the Ivorian government in March 2022. As a result, Côte d'Ivoire plans to open a digital farming school in 2024, known as the Digital Farming School, which will be based at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny National Polytechnic Institute (INPHB) in Yamoussoukro. The school's objective is to promote the agricultural sector by integrating it into the technological sphere.
This project is the result of a partnership between Côte d'Ivoire and OCP Africa, a branch of the Moroccan OCP group specializing in the taiyuan mobile number database and production of phosphates and derivatives, concluded in March 2022. The agreement already provided for the launch of the Digital Farming School and placed particular importance on training young Ivorians in the fields of agroeconomics.
In preparation for the school's launch, the Moroccan group held a preparatory meeting with officials from INPHB and the Ivorian Ministry of Higher Education. During this meeting, which took place on Wednesday, May 10, additional information about the project was shared: "The school will be backed by a digital farm, which will serve as a 100% practical platform focused on new technologies used in agriculture ," the ministry stated.
At its launch, the school will be open to graduates and undergraduates with a passion for information and communication technologies (ICT), aged 18 to 35. Its mission will be to provide these individuals with the skills needed to support the agritech sector.
