After being introduced in the US in February , Instagram's broadcast channels continue their global expansion , now offering this feature to all creators .

What are chat channels on Instagram?
Instagram's Broadcast Channels is a new feature that allows creators to communicate with their followers via direct messages (DMs) . This feature was initially launched in the US last February and later expanded to influential creators around the world .

Broadcast channels offer creators a golden opportunity to strengthen their connection with their audience. Creators can send text and voice messages, images, videos, and polls to their followers through these channels . However, followers can only react with emojis and participate in polls .

Several renowned French creators have already been able to create their own channels , such as Lena Situations, who has over 713,000 members and boasts one of the highest membership rates. Other creators, such as Emmanuelle Sits, Paola Locatelli, as well as artists such as David Guetta and Daft Punk, have also been able to launch their channels on Instagram.

Basically, when a creator opens a broadcast channel on Instagram and sends the first message, all of their followers are invited to participate . Those who accept the channel invitation will receive notifications in their DMs whenever the creator sends a new message. This works the same way as a regular DM sent by a friend.

Broadcast channels can be thought of as "one-way DMs ." Followers can consume the content shared by the creator, but they cannot reply with messages. They can simply react with emojis or participate in polls. While some may be disappointed by this reply restriction , it is justified to avoid a massive influx of messages for creators, especially those with thousands of members in their channels.

Please note that the broadcast channels are public , but only subscribers can join .
