What does a good career site need? The candidate journey

Applicants go through four phases in the process: they become aware of the position – Attract, they interact – Engage, they are convinced – Convince, and finally they apply – Convert.

Attract attention! Attract!
First of all, visitors to your website need to become aware of your advertised positions, netherlands phone number data because every visitor is a potential applicant or at least a multiplier. You can get attention by placing an “Apply now” button on the homepage, not at the bottom of the footer, but prominently at the top of your website. Or you can add a “Career/Job/Working at xyz” item to your menu. Hiding job advertisements in the footer is outdated. Have employees from your company tell you what they value most about their job and include these quotes on the careers page. You can also use your social media channels to advertise the vacancies and then link to the careers page. Find an open and personal way to address your visitors! What are you passionate about? What are you passionate about? In the spirit of #lovewhereyouwork .

Engage the applicants! Engage!
As already mentioned, it's crucial not to hide the careers section and to make it as convenient as possible for applicants. Nothing is more frustrating than a completed form that then can't be submitted due to a timeout, for example. Optimize the careers page for mobile devices, too, as job searches often take place on mobile devices for a short time. Offer visitors the option to filter job openings, either by target group if you're advertising new positions for different departments within your company, or by location, career level, number of hours, and start date.
