Public spaces lack accessible facilities for them in the form of low thresholds or special ramps. Problems also arise in apartment blocks where, unable to use the stairs, these people become " prisoners of the fourth floor" .
Another problem is the insufficient development of urban mobility. Residents of suburban housing face transport exclusion due to insufficient or non-existent bus and train frequencies. There is also a lack of adequate road infrastructure, with the result that Polish streets are among the most dangerous in Europe .
