Time recording is mandatory for all companies with more than 20 employees.
Time recording can be done manually, mechanically or electronically.
Electronic time recording systems must meet the following requirements:
To be inviolable;
Issue a timekeeping receipt;
Record all timekeeping, including refusals;
Allow identification of the employee who made the appointment;
Allow data to be exported to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
Ordinance 671 also establishes a 2-minute tolerance for timekeeping , both for entry and exit. The tolerance cannot be accumulated, that is, if an employee arrives 2 minutes late in the morning, he or she cannot leave 2 minutes early in the afternoon.

Furthermore, the ordinance establishes that electronic timekeeping systems must be interconnected with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security system. This will allow the government to access companies' timekeeping data for inspection purposes.
